The UKMTO said in an advisory note that a ship had been attacked 60 nautical miles southeast of Aden.

The number of ships has increased to 13 units, including five large amphibious ships and one surface missile carrier.

UKMTO and Ambrey also received reports of Red Sea incidents near Yemen's Hodeidah.

The incident follows drone and missile attacks in the Red Sea by Iran-backed Houthis on commercial shipping.

The ship which sailed the globe from 1768-1771, named HMB Endeavour and later renamed Lord Sandwich, had been sunken during the United States’ War of Independence in 1778.

While the ship, known as the CMA CGM Symi, was damaged, there were no casualties to any crew members.
